"What I Want" by Bob Geib

For over 30 years I have been a certified Personal Trainer. Before the title existed we were called instructors or staff. In the early evolution of the fitness industry, Nautilus Inc. developed the entry level Fitness Trainer certificate, which I earned in 1978. I have continued my fitness education and training since then, earning eight other certifications. Since the late 70’s when the industry was still in it’s infancy, it has exploded into what today is a $24 billion market. I have been lucky enough to know from a young age that sport, fitness and helping people were my ‘personal legend’ or mission. What I want for F.I.T. Human Performance is this; to help people make the physical change to a functional healthy body. There will be no “guessing” when it comes to fitness here. If someone wants to train at F.I.T., they will be assessed and any muscular imbalances defined with fitness goals clearly established. The assessment results will indicate each individual’s path to corrective exercise training according to the National Academy of Sports Medicine protocol and the optimal performance model (OPT).

Many people will need to go back to the basics and educate their musculoskeletal system to avoid any further imbalances and possibly injury. F.I.T. assessments will allow clients to understand their muscular imbalances and learn to train anatomically correctly, rather than train using a ‘one size fits all’ machine or plan designed for the standard 6′ frame. Many of us do not fit that mold and should not focus strictly on strength, but should dare to be functional, flexible, with strength, and endurance. The ultimate goal truly is power… perfect balance, perfect muscular strength or tone, and optimal human performance. For the athlete; speed, power, agility and injury-free sport specifically. That is what I want for my clients, and my friends. To help you reach your optimal human performance.

In good health,

Robert “Bob” Geib
