Take a Picture

Post

May 21, 2017 –

When I start working with somebody here at F.I.T. Human Performance I typically will be very clear when I suggest “now, please go home and take a photo of yourself.”  Try wearing something that shows what the body currently looks like, example would be a swimsuit.  Then trust yourself to work hard here and really consider your food choices, portion size, be aware of dessert and alcohol (both useless calories that are ‘a moment on the lips, a lifetime on the hips’).  Forget the photo for a month and then repeat the pictures for a “side by side” review…

When a body begins a resistance training program with functional movements and a variety of exercises … the body transforms, and the picture is worth a 1000 words.  Even with a few diligent workouts the body will get sore and even hurt from microscopic muscle tears, lactic acid buildup, and momentary failure.  The process is natural as is the healing, and in the healing the body shows a firmer more toned appearance.

The Proof is looking back at a photograph side by side with a current photograph.  If, you have one to compare with … and some of you are rolling your eyes (yes you are) because you know I suggested just that.  Take a picture!  Your fitness plan is going to be more than 4, or 12, or even 48 workouts. Your fitness program should be a lifetime and a lifestyle.  Why not just do as I say and … TAKE A PICTURE!  Only you will see them.  The difference between the two simply illustrates your steps toward your dream.

In good health,

Bob
