Making Muscle

MakingMuscleNothing beats strength training or resistance exercises for building and preserving muscle. Nothing beats strength training or resistance exercises for building bone. Nothing beats strength training or resistance exercises for building strength. That’s why the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recommend that all adults do strength training at least twice a week.

Proper strength training should include 8-12 repetitions of exercises that work all the major muscle groups: Legs, hips, back, abdomen, chest, shoulders, and arms. And the exercises should be done to the point where it is hard to do more without help. Fatigue!

During the aging process our behavior guides our posture and if we just guess what to do or try “monkey see monkey do” style training, the chance of injury is far greater. Your body has specific movement patterns, joint limitations, and strength imbalances. If you aren’t sure how to correctly work out with weights, let us help you.

We are almost halfway through the year, so make a commitment to end the year in better shape than your started. Start taking better care of yourself TODAY.

In good health,

Bob
