Foot

Last night was an interesting evening, where I found great appreciation for age.  It all started off with a post my wife had made in her ‘Positively Monday’ blog that I read early yesterday morning and I guess it stuck with me all day.  Simply, the heading on the article was ‘Wonderous Possibility.’

Over a year ago I heard that our life was about to be changed forever because a baby was joining our family.  Well, the baby arrived and I was trying to be macho and aloof about it all.  That character is out of the picture and the new very interested, excited, and head over heels in love character is on the scene.

But back to last night … some very good friends invited us to their 50thAnniversary party.  First off, that institution is second to none and what a blessed accomplishment.  In a room with so many people celebrating, where most of them are obviously older than 50, and at that age we all really appreciate life.  LIFE and LOVE shown as I stood looking at the pictures of my friends in their young life and love together.   Bell-bottom jeans, the hairstyles of the 50’s, the photograph images of the height and fitness they both exuded.  Today both people still enjoy love and fitness but look a bit different.  I guess knowing all of the stories, joys, hardships, and life experiences made the night so wonderful.  What respect I have for these two people.

After the party we went over to visit that precious baby I mentioned earlier.  To see a little angle in a baby swing that was self-rocking, listening to an app that was playing gentle rain-shower sounds … rocking and relaxing this angel so he could rest/sleep.  And again my mind drifts off to just how precious life is … young or old.  Check out this foot!

I do know that at my age friends don’t want a picture of their feet in this report, as the difference between a foot that has never been under load on the floor and a foot that has been under load for a lifetime are quite different.  Just another reminder in life, your feet are your friends, take good care of them. Look at your feet.  Are they soft and supple or dry and cracked?  If they are rough and unsightly one of the easiest and FREE fixes is simply hydration (Daily Water Calculator).  I have often said “you can tell the overall condition of a person by the condition of their feet.”  If the most distal part of your body from your heart are in sad shape, chances are you are not taking the best care of the rest of your frame, skin, and parts. Feet need care too … make your foot like a baby foot!!

In good health,

Bob
