Blindsided

Post

April 16, 2017 –

Talking with a surgeon yesterday, he told me of a circumstance where a person came in to the office unaware that there was even a problem … just “feeling a little bit off.” During the checkup the surgeon had discovered that a patient had been living with a life threatening disease and didn’t even know it! The person was blindsided by the disease and the fact of life and death. I too have known people in my life who right out of the blue they were told they’d been diagnosed with life threatening disease that did not surface until they were middle-aged (often diabetes). Nonetheless, right out of the blue they now had to monitor their exercise and their diet, every day FOREVER! Although the new circumstances could be controlled it was not going to go away. Pity! Could it have been prevented with a healthy lifestyle?

In a lot of cases, diet and exercise are the best prevention ( and cure) to keep your body strong so that it can combat many of todays aggravating and at times deadly viruses, illnesses, and diseases. When it comes to our diet and the natural healing qualities held within, Thomas Edison coined the phrase “The doctor of the future will give no medicine but will interest his patients in the care of the human frame, in diet and in the cause and prevention of disease.”

I would like to go on record as adding to that, “Water and movement are your friends!” – Bob Geib 🙂

If Tom and I believe that diet and exercise are good for you … well I suggest you take it seriously! Don’t be blindsided with an injury, an illness, or the nasty side effects of an unhealthy lifestyle.

In good health,

Bob
