A Sense of Urgency - FIT Human Performance
December 16, 2018 –
Last week I received a phone call from a man who was very direct with me and explained that he wanted to start Personal Training right away. My interest peaked I said “I love the enthusiasm, when shall we start.” He said right away and how about later today. Indeed he did commit to an afternoon session.
When the hour was approaching, I was ready for anything, and he arrived on time and ready to go. First I had to sit with him and get the necessary information. First and foremost is always the goal. Let’s just say Joe was very honest and did not hide his feelings. Joe told me his recent ‘physical at the Doctor’s office’ did not go well. The facts were clear to the Doctor that Joe had simply stopped exercising altogether and his organs were not keeping up with the food intake, weak heart, stiff joints, and inability to even take a deep breath anymore. Joe had as a sense of urgency. My guess is that the Doctors tone and content left him worried and rightly so. JOE was all the above; overweight, weak, stiff, and gasping for air. Getting old fast.
There may be a few you reading this right now that can relate. And yet many of us are too busy (so we tell ourselves) to make the necessary change needed to make the necessary change (for our health). Or is it simply not important? For Joe it could be the difference between life or death. You and I may be just fine, but one day we might get that medical report like Joe just had … if we do not take care now! Then we too will feel that sense of urgency to start getting healthy. Scary huh!
Do you need to go find a Personal Trainer? Do you need to get help getting healthy? I am ready to help. The Holidays are coming to an end … then what? Is this the year to make the greatest hardest effort you’ve every made to change your life to a healthy life?!
I say YES, let’s save your life and make it healthy!
In good health,
Bob
